Hi! I’m Stephanie, the founder of Adulting Financial. I’m one of those weird people that knew exactly what I wanted to do since I was a little kid… but it took me a LONG time to make that dream a reality. I cannot express the gratitude I have to be able to be living my dream life!
Growing up, even starting in middle school, I was extremely eager to start my first job so I could start tracking my budget. I know, weird. But it is what I LOVED, and I still do! I would carry around a tiny notebook and track every single time I spent a penny. I have years and years of these books stacked away somewhere – though now I use excel 😊
Starting in High School my friends started to get jobs and they noticed that I was always tracking my expenses and even doing my own taxes! Some curious friends would reach out and ask me to teach them my ways, and these were my happiest memories in high school. I would set “meetings” with my friends and give them homework to learn how to create and follow a budget. And these methods (though a little more mature now) are still the methods I use today at Adulting Financial.
When it was time to go to college, I was positive that I wanted to study finance so I could become a Financial Advisor and help educate my peers to become the best versions of their financial self! Though, it took me some time to realize that Financial Advisors are not what I thought they were – in fact, they typically focused only on investing, and missed out on the first major financial steps, budgeting and personal goals.
So, I decided to start my own company, where the ONLY goal is to help those that need it.
I am overwhelmed with gratitude every time I meet a new client and we begin our financial journey together. And I am so incredibly thankful that I get to do it every day of my life!
